Set in Brookline, the Ivy Street School is close to both Boston and Cambridge, and students use the community as a second classroom. Students practice navigating safely both in the day and in the evenings. Students take advantage of cultural and educational opportunities in the city. They learn about the many different options for public transportation. Students volunteer in the community, bank in the community, grocery shop in the community, and work in the community – all of which give students a wealth of opportunities to practice social skills with many different people in many different real-life situations.
