Dr. Maryellen Pambookian

Ivy Street School is pleased to announce the hiring of Dr. Maryellen Pambookian as our new Clinical Director. With over 20 years of clinical, supervisory, and Special Education experience, her expertise will be a great benefit to Ivy Street School, including the transition program, which helps students ages 17 to 22 begin their next phase of life through a comprehensive evidence-based, immersive executive functioning/social thinking curriculum.

Dr. Pambookian is passionate about all of our programs. She has experience in developing transition programing as well as helping students on the autism spectrum and students with neurological, mental health, and behavioral challenges make gains academically and socially, then supporting them in integrating and generalizing those skills into other domains, such as acquiring steady employment and post-high school education.

"I am so excited to be part of all of the existing programs here at Ivy St. and look forward to spearheading their further growth," said Dr. Pambookian.

Dr. Pambookian began her career as a clinical intern at South Shore Mental Health Center. From there she became a Program Director at the South Shore Educational Collaborative, developing programs for students with language-based learning disabilities, mental health challenges and ASD for 18 years. Then, prior to coming to Ivy St., she spent two years at the Walker School in Needham.

Dr. Pambookian has a B.A. in Psychology, an M.S. in Clinical Psychology, an M.Ed. in Special Education and a Ph.D. in School Psychology. She is a Massachusetts-certified School Psychologist and Director of Special Education, and she is also an adjunct faculty member at Bridgewater State University.
