Residential Life in Brookline

The Ivy Street School offers a warm, homelike residence for our students set in the historic Cottage Farm District of Brookline. For residential students, learning continues beyond the classroom and new skills are tested and reinforced during interactions with peers and the community around the school.

Residential life is structured to provide the right mix of relaxation and skill-building, with groups including cooking, budgeting, meal planning, yoga, community mobility, arts and crafts, running, walking, banking, and library. Recently added programming includes horseback riding, rock climbing, indoor swimming, rowing, and ice skating with new activities constantly being developed around student interest.

The Ivy Street School residential students each have their own private room. Our creative and enthusiastic residential staff supervise and teach the residential curriculum. Licensed clinicians and Occupational Therapists help to run after-school groups each night of the week.
